Cadel Evans in Pink after Stage 2 of the Giro

Cadel Evans of Team BMC Racing came back from a strong Individual Time Trial in the first stage of the Giro d’Italia in Amsterdam to finish near the front on stage two and take the leaders pink jersey.

Aussie Matthew Goss (Columbia High Road) finished second in todays stage from Amsterdam to Utrecht, just behind stage winner Tyler Farrar who is now ranked overall second.

After the 210 km stage in Holland that was marred by a number of falls, Evans has a 1 second lead on Tyler Farrar and 3 seconds on Alexandre Vinokourov.
