Gear Up Girl Challenge in Sydney and Canberra

The Gear up Girl Challenge is now in its second year and there are a host of convincing arguments why you should participate. In Sydney on 7. March and also in Canberra on 5. April regardless of your ability, this fund raising ride caters for women of all ages and ability.

With the success of the 2008 ride (Gear up Girl Challenge) in Sydney, an additional ride will also be held in 2009 in Canberra. The Gear up Girl Challenge is organised by Bicycle NSW and is sponsored by Netti.

As a women’s only event, any inhibitions can be left behind as it caters for female cyclists of all abilities, regardless of ability, age, shape or bike. In addition to the obvious fitness and environmental benefits of cycling – the event will also raise money for the Oncology Children’s Foundation which helps critically ill children suffering from cancer and cancer-related illness.

Entries are now open with the race fee between $45 and $60 depending on preferred course. In Sydney on March 7. there is a 15km course (Olympic Park) and a 60km course while in Canberra on April 5. the small course is 20km and the longer course also 60km. Packages are also available for both events.

Throughout the year Gear up Girl workshops are conducted. More information about the events and workshops under: www.gearupgirl.com.au
