Sydney Body Art Ride

There are so many reasons why the Sydney Body Art Ride on February 15th is a good idea. Essentially the idea is an art project from Jake Lloyd Jones called The Human Rainbow. It is indeed art and much more as it also raises money for Children’s Cancer Research.

In addition to the principle theme of art, the Sydney Body Art Ride address other topics such as personal body awareness (i.e. healthy lifestyle), tolerance, cycling advocacy and importantly, fun.

In this community ride, beginning at the University of NSW and ending at Maroubra Beach, participants are encouraged to have themself painted in rainbow colours – the rainbow formation is kept for the duration of the ride. There are strict rules governing the ride to ensure safety and courtesy at all times, bikini bottoms (minimum) must be worn. Rider numbers are limited to 1000 so early registration is recommended.

Start: Physics Lawn, UNSW Barker St Entrance UNSW Kensington

Time: 15 Feb 2009 10:00am – 1:00pm

Cost: by Donation. Riders can also raise fund directly with the Children’s Cancer Institute Australia.
