SRAM VIA is a light trekking group set and is marketed with advantages in reliable shifting performance, easy usability and a clear gear display on the shifters. 

SRAM VIA is specifically targeted to leisure cycling lifestyles such as holland style bikes where comfort takes priority over speed and sporting performance. The shifter with ‘ergonomic design’ is operated with thumbs only and thus provide peace of mind for the target audience that they can comfortably shift gears. The rear derailleur and the trigger shifters work with SRAM X.0 shifting technology (1:1 actuation ratio, Di.R.T.: Direct Route Technology, two-lever design).
